You can restore your smile through this tooth replacement option that looks and acts like your natural teeth would.

Our renowned dental implant specialist, Dr. Jason Northcutt, is passionate about building his clients’ oral health and bringing back their natural smiles. With over 20 years of hands-on experience and continuing education, he knows how to handle any dental situation.

The initial consultation will include X-rays and impressions to accurately evaluate the best placement for your dental implants. You will also receive a comprehensive examination of your oral health. At Dental Implants in the Orange Beach area, our respected clients experience professionalism and care that provides a high-quality experience for each individual.

Placing the Implant Post

The first step in your dental implant procedure will be surgically placing the implant post into the jawbone. Your oral surgeon will start by cutting the gum to uncover the jawbone beneath. A hole will then be drilled into the bone where the titanium post is inserted, and the gum stitched back up. Over the next several months, the jawbone will fuse with the artificial tooth root through a process known as osseointegration.

Attaching the Artificial Tooth

Once the implant has completely fused with the jawbone, a connector (also known as an abutment) can then be attached to the post. The gum is reopened, the abutment is attached, and the gum is closed back up around the abutment. It takes about two weeks for the gums to heal before a crown or other tooth restoration can be attached. An impression is taken of the patient’s mouth and a custom crown created, which fits perfectly onto the abutment.

Dental Implant Care & Healing

Our Orange Beach, AL staff ensure all of the bases are covered in your healing process. After your dental implant surgery, you’ll most likely start to experience a little bit of pain and discomfort. Don’t worry! This will subside with the use of over-the-counter pain medications and ice packs, which help numb the area and reduce swelling. With daily brushing and flossing, along with your normal routine visits to the dentist, your tooth replacement will last a lifetime.
