Orange Beach, AL Dental & Tooth Implant FAQs

FAQ’s

Will I have temporary teeth during the healing phase?

Yes, temporary teeth are an option. Especially for those with dental implants near the front of the mouth, many opt to have temporary teeth until they receive their permanent teeth restoration. Our Orange Beach dental and tooth implant team offers bridges or transitional implants during the healing phase. In some instances, you may be able to have the permanent teeth loaded onto the implant on the same day as your procedure.

Do dental implants hurt?

No! Due to the local anesthetic used during surgery, you won’t feel any pain. After the procedure, some people don’t experience any pain while others might experience a little bit. This can normally be addressed by using over-the-counter pain medication. If you need prescribed medication, your dentist will discuss this during your appointment.

Do dental implants feel like real teeth?

Dental implants will make you forget that you ever lost your natural teeth! They not only look like them but also function like your real teeth as well.

Will I need to miss work for dental implant surgery?

It depends on the situation. Some of our clients only need a few hours to recover, while others need a few days.

What are single-stage implants?

A single-stage implant is when the client only has one surgery in which the implant and the abutment are placed into the gums. You generally see this procedure when a client has good bone quality.
